THE GOOD COUNTRY is an initiative exploring how fundamental pillars of the Swedish society – the cultural heritage, the educational system, the military, the police, the labor market, and the citizenship - welcome newly arrived Swedes. The initiative was launched in 2018, in the aftermath of the migration crisis, to initiate discussion and dialogue on integration in contemporary Sweden. It consists of six thematic episodes that raise questions on topics such as democracy, ethics, interculturality, and human rights. We dive into the hands-on challenges and opportunities of integration in one of the world’s most equal countries.
As of today, THE GOOD COUNTRY has reached over one million viewers on Swedish Public Television, and more than 6 000 people have participated in local screenings all over the country. In 2018, the documentary production was nominated for the Best Documentary Program of the Year at Kristallen.
